Visualizing information space deals with the organization of a dense amount of information. For this project, I gathered information about the films of Charles and Ray Eames, and organized the information to deliver an informational and visually engaging print piece. The content from this print piece will be translated to an iPad app design, which I can currently working on. The poster is 15"x 55".

Layers of Léger is an exploration of color, visual system, and exhibition experience. Phipps Conservatory located in Pittsburgh, PA served as a fictional client for an exhibition design showcasing the life and works of the French painter, sculpter, and filmmaker, Fernand Léger. Through detailed studies of Léger's color palette, style, mood, and visual elements, we were inspired to incorporate our findings with a modernized and fresh visual system that encouraged the public to learn.

I'm currently heading the design team for TEDxCMU. I've designed and overlooked the visual system for the past two TEDxCMU events: "ImPossible" and "Reinterpretation". My responsibilities included the stage design and print media: logo, posters, shirts, programs, and toolkits. TEDx is an independently organized TED event at Carnegie Mellon University, inviting the world’s most fascinating thinkers, doers, and makers to share their ideas.

The wooden boxes invite children to interact with them and encourages discovery and learning. Inside each box children will find an event, exhibition, or activity to explore near their neighborhoods. Each box also contains tear-off paper pads with additional information that they can take to their parents. The boxes serve as a tangible and interactive method to encourage children and families open their eyes, breathe in the fresh air, and experience the world around them.

The Waste Sorting System project is the redesign of the waste system at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) to instill environmentally friendly behavior and practice. We focused largely on user research in which we closely observed human behavior and interaction with the existing set ups on campus and off campus. Interviews were also conducted with a range of people involved in the waste sorting process starting with the students who use the trash cans to the members of the Green Practices committee at CMU. We then created prototypes to test and continued our research to come to a solution of a revised 3D model of the trash bins along with uncovering the root of the problem, which came down to the education of the public.

Information visualization group project. Our project focused on the top ten countries in the world with the highest CO2 emissions. The objective was to visualize a data set for effective communication. Our target audience included people who find it difficult to keep up to date with the environmental status and news of the world. We created both a print piece and an interactive program that would allow people to understand and remember. This project presents a segue way to a concept for a interactive news application.

During my studies in St Gallen, Switzerland, I worked on a fictional branding and identity project for Säntis, the mountain and Schwägalp, the hotel. Säntis is a major tourist attraction and the tallest mountain in the easter region of Switzerland towering at 2,502 meters. The focus was to appeal to the wide audience of foreigners and natives alike, giving Säntis a modernized feel without losing the tradition and essence of the mountain.

An original game design. We created a board game revolving around a given theme: constellations. Research, user testing, and multiple iterations of 3D prototypes were required to create a functional and enjoyable game. We decided to create the game for a younger target audience that still carried an approachable and sophisticated visual and tactile experience.

This stop motion interprets the given word/concept of "transfer". How can a concept be effectively understood by an audience? What mediums are appropriate to communicate this idea? Could something that can be complex be represented in a simple way? How can the visuals enrich someone's learning experience?
"Transfer" explores interpretation, representation, and stories through the execution of this simplified storyline that presents a concept in an understandable way.

A composition integrating text and image. This project was a further development of an original project that included translating a Craigslist personal ad (text) into an image that portrayed the essence of the person advertised. Here, I integrated text from the original ad with the image to clearly communicate the mood and essence of the portrait.
